Bestival 2012
Sunday Best presents Bestival, a multi award-winning 3-day boutique music festival, curated by BBC Radio 1 DJ Rob da Bank and set in the leafy surrounds of Robin Hill Country Park on the Isle of Wight. It’s the sure-fire best way to round off the summer festival season.
2009’s headliners included Lilly Allen, Elbow and Kraftwerk but they only tell part of the tale as there were over 400 acts performing across 16 stages and tents over the course of the weekend with the music varying from leftfield dance, electronic and ambient through to folk, rock, pop.
Not to mention the comedy tent and the multitude of chill-out-and-be-pampered areas. Plus this is all done with a fancy-dressed, silliness of spirit that reinforces Bestival's reputation as a true family-friendly fun festival.
When asked “What’s the best Saturday night out you’ve ever had?” Sara Cox (presenter of the Radio 1 Weekend Show) replied; “At Bestival on the Isle of Wight….it was a really small festival, The Magic Numbers were playing…It was a really lovely vibe.”
Rob da Bank has made his first announcement of acts that will be performing at this year’s event. They include Dizzee Rascal, Flaming Lips, Hot Chip, Rolf Harris, Chase & Status, Ellie Goulding and Simian Mobile Disco.
