Ascot Racecourse, Berkshire
Ascot Racecourse is a fantastic day out of all the family, and best of all, children under 18 go free! It’s not just the adults that get to have fun at Ascot Racecourse with five dedicated family racedays throughout the year. As well as all the fun on the course with the racing, there is also lots to do away from the course including fairground rides and family entertainment.
Hastings, East Sussex
Situated on the south coast, Hastings and the surrounding area is a haven for great family days out. Not only will the beautiful beaches to keep you busy for hours, but there are some great attractions too. Smugglers Adventures allows you to explore the St Clements Caves famed for their history of smugglers, bootleggers and warring gangs.
Isle of Wight
It might be small, but the Isle of Wight is packed full of exciting days out. The Isle of Wight Zoo and Seaview Wildlife will satisfy the appetite of animal lovers while adrenaline junkies will be spoilt for choice by the number of sports on offer. Whether its water-based such as sailing, windsurfing or kitesurfing, or land-based mountain biking or off road adventures, the Island is diverse enough to cater for all tastes.
National Motor Museum Beaulieu, Hampshire
The National Motor Museum Beaulieu is home to some of the UK most famous cars including Rupert Grint’s flying Ford Anglia, as seen in Harry Potter, Land Speed Record Breakers including Bluebird and F1 racers. Fans of BBC’s Top Gear series can visit the World of Top Gear exhibition - take a look around the cars from the challenges, get a rare behind-the-scenes view into the show’s production office, and enjoy clips of some of the best Top Gear moments.
River Thames
The River Thames is the perfect location for active teenagers looking for adventure. There are many spots along the river where canoes, boats and bikes can be hired for the day. Alternatively head to Longridge Activity Centre near Marlow for outdoor activities to suit all ages and abilities including climbing, fencing, kayaking, sailing and lots more!
Royal Navy Submarine Museum, Hampshire
Based in Gosport, Hampshire, this fabulous museum brings submarines to life. Families can get onboard a real WW2 submarine, HMS Alliance, with a veteran submariner to hear his stories about living beneath the waves, or Peer into the only surviving midget submarine to have seen action during WW2. The museum is also home to the Royal Navy’s first submarine Holland 1 that is over 100years old.
