Royal Navy Submarine Museum
Dive into history at the Royal Navy Submarine Museum in Gosport, Hampshire and go onboard an actual WWII era submarine - HMS Alliance with a veteran submariner to hear his stories about living beneath the waves.
Peer into the only surviving midget submarine to have seen action during WW2 and climb inside the Royal Navy’s first submarine Holland 1 that is over 100years old. Dive deeper into our history galleries and discover the “daring do” of the nation’s Victoria Cross heroic submariners.
Once you have seen the many prized submarines, then it’s time to give the family a turn at the helm! At the Royal Navy Submarine Museum, your family can play at being a submarine commander in one of six hands-on interactive stations. Children are also sure to love the Skull & Crossbones exhibition where they can become a pirate, hoist the Jolly Roger and set sail to find buried treasure.
Finally before you leave rest up and dive into a frothy coffee and a very sticky cake at the new Harbour Stations coffee shop overlooking Portsmouth Harbour.
