Windsor
Less than thirty miles west of London, Windsor and the Royal Borough in Berkshire has plenty to keep the family entertained. From an observation wheel and a world class family theme park to messing about on the River Thames, there really is something for everyone.
Soar over 50 metres above historic Windsor and take in all that the area has to offer with the Royal Windsor Observation Wheel, located in Alexandra Gardens. On a clear day you can even see Wembley Stadium.
At nearby Extreme Motion you will find a skate park, bungee trampolines and mini golf. Bikes can also be hired here - why not get out and about along one of the many surrounding cycle paths.
For even more outdoor fun for children in Windsor, take them windsurfing, kayaking and sailing at Bray Lake Watersports. Activity courses are available from Easter to the autumn half-term. If watersports is not to your liking, LEGOLAND® Windsor is a sure bet to please everyone. There are numerous fun filled rides for children of all ages, whilst the park’s opening hours extend to 7pm in school summer holidays.
Windsor Leisure Centre is great for children if the weather lets you down when visiting Windsor. Let them loose in the indoor heated pool, wave machine and on the giant slides. There’s also a crèche and an Adventure Playzone for smaller children. Over in nearby Maidenhead, the Magnet Leisure Centre also has a family fun pool and an indoor adventure playground. Next door is a ten-pin bowling centre whilst in the Riverside Gardens, there is mini golf.
Finally, let your princes and princesses imaginations run wild in Windsor at one of the three official residences of the Queen - Windsor Castle. A visit to the Castle includes the State Apartments, Queen Mary’s Dolls’ House, the Drawings Gallery, St George’s Chapel and Albert Memorial Chapel, amongst others.
